The Wimberley Area

Wimberley, TX is located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Wimberley is known for its scenic beauty, small town charm and artistic flair. The town sits in central Hays County 15 miles northwest of San Marcos, 40 miles southwest of Austin and 60 miles northeast of San Antonio. Wimberley is nestled in the Blanco River Valley where Cypress Creek flows into the Blanco River. Extensive deposits of limestone make up the white rocks and white river bottom common in the area. The city sits approximately 1,000 feet above sea level on the Edwards Plateau and consists of approximately 5,000 lucky individuals.

With hot summers and mild winters, Wimberley averages 300 days of sunshine a year with approximately 34 inches of rain. Expect the chance of frost between the end of November and the end of February but the winters are short lived. But there is something for everyone all year long. For more on Wimberley, you can try the Chamber’s site at www.wimberley.org. But we’ve included some of our own recommendations here. Enjoy!
